Opportunity to get involved with the new Grow Banff @ the Vinery project
Aberdeenshire Council are looking for a social enterprise, charity, business or partnership who will work with them and the community to fulfil the potential of a derelict, listed Vinery building in Banff to make a real difference to people’s lives. A community consultation was carried out to identify possible uses for this Grade B listed Glass House. It identified the preferred use for a restored building as a “Community garden and Horticultural Skills base” which was closely followed in votes by a “Community Kitchen and Café”, and it is hoped it could be possible to accommodate both in the site designs. The buildings sit within a landscaped walled garden of 0.8 hectares which once formed part of the policies of the Historic Environment Scotland property, Duff House. Currently under-used this project also offers huge scope to re-invigorate this garden space as a place for the community and an attraction for tourists.
