Best Start Foods stakeholder events
The regulations for Social Security Scotland’s Best Start Foods were laid in parliament on 07 December 2023. Subject to Parliamentary approval, the changes from these amendments will come into effect from 26 February 2024.
While the main aim is to remove any income thresholds for qualifying benefits, this further aligns Best Start Foods with the other Five Family Payments. It has been forecast these changes will enable an additional 20,000 individuals to receive Best Start Foods.
Social Security Scotland invites you to sign up to one of its virtual stakeholder events.
Due to the nature of this payment, they are looking to engage with professionals who work closely with expectant parents and/or families with children under three, who can highlight the changes and ensure that people who may be eligible are aware.
